March Moves: Strong Hips, Open Shoulders & Getting Up with Confidence

As we close out February, I’m sharing a little then-and-now moment with a Pink Shirt Day photo — past and present. 💗 A reminder that kindness evolves, just like we do. Strength changes shape over time… but it’s always worth building.


And speaking of building — March is all about Hips & Shoulders.
These two areas carry so much of our daily load. When they move well, everything feels easier. When they’re restricted, the whole body compensates. Over the next two weeks, we’ll layer in focused support for sciatica and the psoas, creating stability in the pelvis while allowing the shoulders to soften and organize.
In both yoga and fitness classes, you’ll notice something new.
We’re beginning a 12-week progression focused on a skill that truly defines functional strength:
getting up and down off the ground.
From seated.
From your belly.
From your back.
Each week, I’ll introduce three new progressive movements that build on the last — improving mobility, coordination, balance, and confidence. This isn’t about speed. It’s about resilience. The ability to move through life without hesitation.
Being able to transition smoothly from floor to standing is one of the most powerful longevity markers we have. So we’ll train it intentionally, intelligently, and with options for every level.
Expect thoughtful integration — strength woven into flow, control built through repetition, and support where you need it most.
